Report: Liverpool considering move for La Liga defender
Liverpool tracking Jon Aramburu as right-back plans take shape
Liverpool are continuing to assess the right-back market, with TeamTalk reporting that the club have received encouraging checks on Venezuelan defender Jon Aramburu. The 22-year-old, currently building his profile in Spain, is understood to be attracting attention from multiple top clubs, with Manchester City also in the mix as competition intensifies.

As TeamTalk outlines, the feedback on Aramburu has been positive and that will matter at a time when Liverpool are refining recruitment priorities under Andoni Iraola . A valuation in the region of £50 million points to the growing regard in which he is held, and it also suggests any move would need clear conviction from the buying club.
From Liverpool's perspective, this feels like the kind of process that often precedes a bigger decision rather than an immediate push. Monitoring, gathering reports and understanding the financial landscape are standard steps, especially when a player's stock is rising and rival interest is emerging. Manchester City's presence in the background only adds another layer, because once elite clubs converge on the same profile, pricing and timing can shift quickly.
Jon Aramburu emerging in Liverpool transfer plans
Aramburu's appeal is easy to understand. He is young, athletic and already operating in a league that provides a reliable benchmark for technical quality and tactical intelligence. For Liverpool, the search for the right blend of defensive security and forward thrust on the right side has become a significant squad-building theme.

The key question is whether this develops into something more concrete. Positive reports are one thing, but Liverpool will weigh value, fit and urgency before advancing. With a £50 million figure attached, this is the stage where clubs tend to decide if admiration becomes action.
Man City interest could shape the market
When Manchester City are linked to the same player, the market rarely stays still. Their involvement can accelerate talks, raise expectations and test how serious other suitors really are. Liverpool will know that if Aramburu is considered a genuine solution, hesitation can be costly.
For now, the situation appears to be one of strong awareness rather than a finalised pursuit. Yet the signs are notable. Liverpool like the profile, the reports have been favourable and the wider market is beginning to move around him.

Our View
From a Liverpool perspective, this is one of those links that instantly sparks curiosity. Jon Aramburu is not yet a household name for every supporter, but sometimes those are the moves that prove smartest if the groundwork is right. If the club's scouts are returning with positive feedback, that alone makes this worth paying attention to.
The £50 million figure naturally gives you pause. That is serious money for a player who would still be seen by many as an emerging talent rather than a fully established star. Liverpool supporters will want reassurance that any investment of that size is tied to a very specific tactical idea and a long-term role in the side.
There is also the added intrigue of Manchester City being mentioned. When another major club is circling, it can validate the player's level, but it can also make the whole situation more difficult. Fans have seen enough transfer battles to know how quickly prices can climb once two heavyweights are involved.

Still, the report does feel encouraging. Liverpool need smart recruitment, especially in key structural positions, and right-back is clearly one of them. If Aramburu has the athleticism, composure and upside being suggested, then supporters will trust the club to keep digging. This is not one to dismiss. It feels like a name that could gather real momentum if the internal belief matches the external noise.
