Report: West Ham United refusing to sell forward despite relegation
West Ham Draw a Line Around Taty Castellanos as Relegation Rebuild Begins
West Ham have made one thing abundantly clear as they begin life outside the Premier League. Taty Castellanos is not for sale.
In the aftermath of a painful relegation campaign, difficult decisions are being taken across the club. Players will leave, finances will be scrutinised and expectations will be recalibrated. Yet amid the uncertainty, one figure has emerged as central to the future. Castellanos has been informed that he is effectively "off-limits" this summer, with West Ham determined to build their Championship challenge around the Argentine forward.

Taty Castellanos Becomes Cornerstone of West Ham Plans
Relegation often triggers a dismantling of squads. Ambitious players seek exits, rival clubs circle and financial pressures force sales. West Ham are expected to experience plenty of that turbulence in the months ahead.
However, Taty Castellanos has been identified as one of the few players the club are unwilling to lose.
The striker arrived from Lazio in January and quickly established himself as one of the brighter aspects of an otherwise miserable campaign. His return of seven goals in 22 appearances may not have been enough to prevent relegation, but it demonstrated his quality, determination and ability to adapt to English football.

Those performances have inevitably attracted attention. Yet SportsBoom reports that West Ham have informed interested parties that offers will not be entertained unless they reach extraordinary levels.
One source described the required bid as a "ridiculously astronomical fee", underlining just how strongly the club value the 27-year-old.
Relegation Forces Tough Decisions Across Squad
The reality of relegation means West Ham cannot simply retain every leading player.
Reports suggest several high-profile departures are expected as the club works to balance its finances and comply with Championship regulations. Players such as Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville have already been linked with moves away from the London Stadium.

Owner David Sullivan faces the familiar challenge confronting many relegated clubs. Revenue falls sharply outside the Premier League, while wage bills often remain among the highest in the division.
That makes sales inevitable.
Yet there is also recognition that a successful promotion push requires quality to remain within the squad. Allowing every valuable asset to leave would significantly weaken West Ham's chances of an immediate return to the top flight.
Retaining Taty Castellanos appears to be one of the compromises the club are determined to protect.
Nuno Espirito Santo Shapes Championship Strategy
An important factor behind the decision is the influence of manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Following relegation, West Ham opted to continue with Nuno rather than pursue alternative managerial options. During discussions about the club's future direction, keeping Castellanos was reportedly among his key requests.
That stance reflects the manager's belief that the striker can become the focal point of a promotion-winning side.
Castellanos brings more than goals. His work rate, physicality and relentless approach make him particularly well suited to the demands of Championship football. Those attributes could prove invaluable during a long and unforgiving season.
Significantly, the player himself appears willing to remain committed to the project.

SportsBoom reports that Castellanos understood the risks attached to joining West Ham when he arrived from Lazio. Having accepted the possibility of relegation, he is prepared to stay for at least another year before reassessing his future.
That commitment provides a rare source of stability during a period of major transition.
Promotion Ambitions Rest on Key Argentine Forward
West Ham supporters have endured a difficult year. Relegation has brought frustration, disappointment and uncertainty. Yet every rebuild requires foundations, and Taty Castellanos is rapidly becoming one of the most important.

His journey from Universidad de Chile to Torque, New York City FC , Girona , Lazio and now West Ham has been marked by persistence and progression. The next chapter could prove equally significant.
If the Hammers can resist the inevitable interest from elsewhere, they will enter the Championship with one of the division's most dangerous forwards leading the line.
For a club desperate to restore its Premier League status at the first opportunity, that could make all the difference.
