- Reviewing the Bears’ PFN grades from Week 8 vs. Seahawks

The Bears made an impact in primetime on Monday night, decisively beating the Seahawks 34-17 to improve their record to 6-2 for the 2026-27 NFL season. It was a convincing win which saw Chicago excel on both sides of the ball, limiting the Seahawks' offense and gashing apart what is generally seen as one of the best defenses in the NFL. There were a lot of positive takeaways out of the All-22, and the analytics reflect that.
Each week, I'll review how Chicago's eligible performers graded by Pro Football Network's Impact Scoring model. Now that the rest of the NFL has caught up, and the numbers have all been crunched, here's how Week 8 looked.
Caleb Williams: 78.0 (10th of 28 QBs)
D'Andre Swift: 81.4 (6th of 40 RBs)
Luther Burden III: 78.1 (7th of 52 WRs)
Rome Odunze: 76.7 (16th of 54 WRs)
Colston Loveland: 75.7 (10th of 32 TEs)
Theo Benedet: 76.7 (16th of 49 OTs)
Joe Thuney: 82.4 (9th of 73 OGs)
Garrett Bradbury: 72.5 (21st of 25 Cs)
Jonah Jackson: 85.1 (2nd of 73 OGs)
Darnell Wright: 79.1 (12th of 49 OTs)
Caleb Williams was an above-average performer at quarterback across the board on Monday night, which is made more impressive considering the quality of the Seahawks' defense. He graded in at least the top 12 in such categories as EPA per dropback, success rate, adjusted net yards per attempt, completion percentage, completion percentage over expected, and passing yards.
It helped that he had three efficient weapons to throw to; though Luther Burden III led all Bears weapons in PFN Impact grading, it was Rome Odunze who had the highest EPA per target, ranking fourth in the metric at +1.07. Likewise, Chicago had two top-ten performances at guard for the week out of both Jonah Jackson and Joe Thuney.
Montez Sweat: 80.0 (14th of 97 EDGEs)
Austin Booker: 75.4 (39th of 97 EDGEs)
James Lynch: 75.2 (40th of 97 EDGEs)
Daniel Hardy: 52.6 (91st of 97 EDGEs)
Jeffery Simmons: 89.9 (3rd of 92 DTs)
Grady Jarrett: 55.4 (85th of 92 DTs)
Devin Bush: 82.6 (11th of 77 LBs)
D'Marco Jackson: 76.7 (30th of 77 LBs)
Noah Sewell: 66.7 (73rd of 77 LBs)
Kyler Gordon: 77.7 (29th of 95 CBs)
Jaylon Johnson: 75.4 (42nd of 95 CBs)
Tyrique Stevenson: 67.1 (87th of 95 CBs)
Cam Lewis: 80.0 (14th of 77 SAFs)
Dillon Thieneman: 74.9 (45th of 77 SAFs)
Jeffery Simmons made his Bears debut on Monday, and he absolutely shined on the big stage. His six tackles tied for the most on the team and tied for third among 92 qualified defensive tackles, and he also added a sack into the mix, despite facing a heavy double-team focus from Seattle's offensive line. The two biggest benefactors from Simmons' presence in Week 8 were Montez Sweat and Devin Bush, as both ended up with sacks, and the latter tied Simmons for the Bears' lead in tackles for the night.
The Seahawks picked on Tyrique Stevenson often, as he was targeted ten times and gave up a targeted passer rating of 124.2 for the game. However, strong auxiliary performances from Cam Lewis, Austin Booker, James Lynch, and D'Marco Jackson gave Chicago an all-around solid defensive outing.
Cairo Santos: 80.5 (8th of 24 Ks)
Tory Taylor: 79.7 (11th of 28 Ps)
Cairo Santos hit all of his field goal and extra point attempts, nailing his two field goal tries from 44 and 38 yards, respectively. His +0.4 field goals made over expected tied for the fourth best in the NFL in Week 8. On the other end of special teams, Tory Taylor finished above average with a 45.0-yard net punt average, including the lucky bounces he got on the one punt that got tipped.
