“It was hard not to be proud of him to do that,” Duran said. “We all know he’s a stud, and for him to do that is super exciting. But I hope they go out and do their thing and play and continue to play good.”
In five WBC games, Anthony has gone 6-for-19 (.316) with a .435 on-base percentage, one home run, six RBIs and four runs. He also has more walks (four) than strikeouts (three).
Duran said he’ll be watching the semifinals.
“I love watching baseball,” Duran said. “I can never get enough of it. So I’ll definitely be watching it and cheering for the boys to do good.”
Duran went 5-for-15 (.333) with three home runs, one double, five RBIs, five runs and two steals in four WBC games.

“Playing in those kind of games is just a different atmosphere,” Duran said. “It’s hard to explain unless you’re there to hear how loud those fans are. It’s really loud. Especially in Houston , where we all know it’s indoors. It was insane.”
