The North Carolina Tar Heels football program can't catch a break, and every week there's another off-field incident detracting from the on-field product.
According to reports, North Carolina freshmen wide receivers Keeyun Chapman and CJ Sadler were both involved in an incident on Tuesday night. Chapman was arrested on a misdemeanor gun charge, while Sadler was allegedly driving at least 60 mph in a 35 mph zone. Chapman has been suspended indefinitely, and Sadler is currently listed as "out" for Saturday's ACC opener against the Clemson Tigers. Here's what these developments mean for the Tar Heels this weekend and beyond.

Sadler has established himself as a legitimate weapon for North Carolina and started last weekend against East Tennessee State. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound receiver delivered with three receptions for 66 yards. Following a fumble by Trech Kekahuna late in the first half against TCU, the Tar Heels' coaching staff gave Sadler extensive snaps in the second half, which transitioned into the aforementioned start.
This is devastating news for North Carolina , as Sadler was emerging as a legitimate pass-catching threat in the slot and on the outside. The Tar Heels' passing attack will suffer, as Sadler's crisp route-running was a major factor in his ability to get open. As for Chapman, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound wideout has yet to play a snap this season. While he's a talented player with a high ceiling, he was already a non-factor for North Carolina.

This weakens depth, but it also opens opportunities for multiple players who have underwhelmed through the first two weeks. Jordan Shipp has been the Tar Heels' bona fide WR1 since last season, and he'll obviously continue to operate in that role. However, Kekahuna and Mason Humphrey are the two wideouts who need to step up in Sadler's absence.
Kekahuna lost his starting position to Sadler after one game, so the Wisconsin transfer has an opportunity to regain control of that role. Kekahuna has four receptions for 54 yards across his first two games as a Tar Heel, leaving much to be desired. Meanwhile, Humphrey has compiled two receptions for 21 yards during that same span.
Overall, this is not good news for the Tar Heels, who can't seem to get out of their own way. North Carolina needs a strong start to conference play, and Sadler's absence could prove to be costly against Clemson.
