Adomitis, 28, had just joined to the Dolphins practice squad a week ago after he had been released by the Green Bay Packers as part of their final roster cuts. He signed with Green Bay on Aug. 1.
However, Adomitis actually began the 2026 offseason with the Steelers . He was released in June to make room for wide receiver Joaquin Davis and cornerback Daryl Porter Jr.
The Steelers signed Adomitis, a Central Catholic and Pitt product, to a reserve/future deal in January.
Adomitis has played in 58 games during his NFL career, 49 of them with the Cincinnati Bengals . He appeared in nine games for the Philadelphia Eagles last season before being waived in early December. Shortly after, Pittsburgh picked up Adomitis as incumbent long snapper Christian Kuntz dealt with a knee ailment.

Adomitis and Kuntz train together in the summer. At first, the former described practicing with his hometown team as "a weird fever dream." He was working out for the Arizona Cardinals when the Steelers reached out to his agent to bring him in.
But Adomitis has continued to embrace the unpredictable nature of the league.
"You've gotta keep the perspective that that's kinda part of the fun in it, and just enjoy the process," Adomitis said. "My job doesn't really change no matter where I am, so I'm ready to go if I'm called. I'm just trying to enjoy the ride and enjoy being in the black and gold."
During his senior year at Pitt in 2021, Adomitis raised over $114,000 to donate towards the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh .
