The Seattle Seahawks lost more than just a game to the Tennessee Titans during the second week of the 2026 preseason. Rookie safety Bud Clark and Mason Richman both suffered significant injuries. Clark was carted off the field, and head coach Mike Macdonald announced Richman was also injured during the postgame press conference. Now we know the severity of both.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Seahawks placed both Bud Clark and Mason Richman on the season-ending injured reserve list. Their 2026 seasons are over before it could even begin. An absolutely brutal reminder to the Super Bowl LX champions of how quickly life can change in the NFL. Clark and Richman are the second and third Seattle players from the Titans preseason week who had their seasons end due to injury, joining wide receiver Jake Bobo .
Seattle moved quickly to fill their specific roster spots by signing a trio of players. The Seahawks added safety Tysheem Johnson and tackle Derrick Graham to specifically address the losses of Clark and Richman. Seattle also signed running back Justin Jones.
Tysheem Johnson spent two years at Ole Miss before transferring to Oregon for the final two seasons of his collegiate career. During his time with both the Rebels and Ducks, Johnson recorded 262 total tackles and recorded six interceptions. He went undrafted in 2025 and spent time on the Chicago Bears in training camp that year, and later signed with Atlanta Falcons to be a member of their practice squad. Derrick Graham was undrafted from Tulane in 2026 and was most recently with the Houston Texans. As for Justin Jones, he was actually with the Seattle Seahawks and participated in their preseason loss to the Dallas Cowboys .
