The Seattle Seahawks have not escaped the preseason unscathed by injuries. Last week during a joint practice between Seattle and the Tennessee Titans , wide receiver Jake Bobo was carted off the field . Bobo fell after going up for a pass and trainers were attending to his right leg. At the time, we at Seahawks Wire tried being cautiously optimistic. While we acknowledged it was never a good thing to see the cart, we also recognized that it could have been precautionary as well.
Turns out the worst fears were absolutely realized. ESPN's Adam Schefter and Brady Henderson reported on Saturday that Jake Bobo's leg injury was serious enough to land him on the season-ending Injured Reserve (IR) list. This will sadly end Bobo's title defense campaign before it gets a chance to begin.
Seattle immediately filled Bobo's roster spot with wide receiver Julian Hicks. If that name sounds familiar, it is because we at Seahawks Wire have written about him recently. Hicks was signed after the Seahawks' 17-7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in the first week of the preseason, but he was waived not too long after that when the team signed Trevon Diggs .
The loss of Bobo will test Seattle's wide receiver depth, as well as their special teams - where they were the best in the NFL last season.
