Dante Moore suffered a concussion when Dan Lanning's Oregon beat USC 41-27 on Saturday. USC linebacker Desman Stephens II hit his shoulder against Moore, and the Oregon quarterback's helmet was knocked off.
Moore was then stretchered off the field and taken to a Los Angeles hospital in an ambulance. Stephens was ejected from the game and subsequently suspended for USC's next game by the school.

After talking about the incident in multiple appearances, Lanning was once again asked at a local media availability on Wednesday. A reporter asked if Stephens had made direct contact with Moore. This time, he moved past the question and wanted to talk about the No. 15 Ducks' next game against No. 23 UCLA (4-0, 2-0) on Oct. 11.
Fans pointed out a few things from this week regarding Lanning's comments.
"This seems weird to watch… right?" one fan said

While he moved on from the question about Stephens and Moore, Lanning also made sure to praise Oregon's next opponent and also drop a reality check for his own team.
"We're about to play a UCLA team that reminds me a lot of Indiana from last year, right? Great staff, and let's just be honest, we're not remotely close to what we need to be. We're not remotely close. Our team is a long ways away from being what we need to be," Lanning said.
