MOBILE, Ala. —The practice sessions for the 2026 Senior Bowl have wrapped up, with Thursday's American and National Team practices finishing the week for most of the scouts and media in Mobile.
Although the game is not until Saturday, that's just the cherry on top of the week of scouting for most NFL teams. Besides the coaches that are participating in the game, most of the rest of the league is headed back to their frigid home cities after spending a week in the sun in Mobile.
While they will certainly be leaving Alabama with memories of many of the players that gathered on the campus of South Alabama this week, there's almost no question in my mind which player stood out the most, and that's Pitt linebacker Kyle Louis.
Louis was everywhere on Thursday, the crowning achievement in what has been a stellar week for him, with three interceptions capping off a nearly unbelievable week of pass coverage, and more than enough run stops to warrant the LB remaining next to his name.
Expect Louis' stock to rise rapidly coming out of the Senior Bowl practice, rising well above the late-fourth-round stock he had coming in.
🏈 LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has stood out this week for his consistency. Baylor quarterback Sawyer Robertson has stood out for his inconsistency. I'd estimate that 20% of the drop-backs for Robertson have resulted in nearly uncatchable passes.
On the other hand, in a quarterback class with shockingly little upside, the good for Robertson his really good. He can put the ball to any spot on the field, and he moves really well for his size.
I'm not necessarily predicting great things here, but outside of Nussmeier, he's the quarterback from this group I'd want.
🏈 Another big riser from this week is TCU safety Bud Clark. He made a leaping interception to close a team period on Thursday, and has been one of the best defensive backs in Mobile all week.
Clark made play after play this week in coverage, and already brought a reputation as a hard-hitter inside the box with him.
🏈 I've got a hat trick of three receivers that I think all had nice weeks in Mobile:
Cincinnai's Cyrus Allen wreaked havoc on the defensive backs, and made way more combat catches than you'd expect from his 5-foot-11 1/8-inch frame.
Georgia State wide receiver Ted Hurst has very sticky hands, good burst, and great size.
LSU's Chris Hilton was a late add, but shined among the brightest at the position.
🏈 North Carolina cornerback Thaddeus Dixon had a diving interception on Thursday, and was pretty consistent in coverage throughout the week.
🏈 I have to admit, Louisville RB Caullin Lacy was not high on my list to watch coming into this week, but I may be changing my tune. He's an electric route runner.
