Head coach Luciano Spalletti and Guglielmo Vicarioshared their thoughts on the Serie A Matchday 7 clash between Juventus and Lazio.
LUCIANO SPALLETTI
"What matters is the tempo you set in a match, the energy and the heart you put into it. Tonight, we showed fragility, and that starts in the mind. You end up chasing events rather than anticipating them. What makes the difference is what you see and think ahead of time, because at this level everyone is technically gifted. Tactical systems change nothing if there is no hunger, passion, courage or character. Tonight, we showed that if this is how we play, we leave our future to chance, and that makes things difficult. We looked tired, because to some extent we were. Today, we took a step backwards."
GUGLIELMO VICARIO
"There are absolutely no excuses to hide behind. We need to be fully aware of the history of this Club and the expectations that come with it. Today, we performed below the required standard, and we need to analyse our performance both individually and as a team. We have to find solutions to win matches, and I'm the first to recognise that what we're doing right now isn't good enough. We need to look closely at everything that went wrong tonight and analyse it."
