The Oklahoma City Thunder have a deep team with the ability to weather many injuries, but an injury to reigning MVP and Finals MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander would be tough to overcome in the NBA Playoffs.
Early in Game 2, Gilgeous-Alexander was aggressive getting shots up. On a drive to the basket with about 8:55 remaining in the first quarter, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander drove to the basket for a layup attempt, missed, and appeared to land awkwardly after the play.
He then proceeded to hold onto his hand in pain and discomfort for the next few possessions, bringing some concern to Thunder fans.
A slow-motion replay of the incident showed the fingers on the left hand of Gilgeous-Alexander bending too far, which led to some obvious discomfort.

The MVP stayed in the game, however, and during the first timeout taken by the Suns, Gilgeous-Alexander had his hand worked on and stretched by the Thunder training staff. He also appeared to direct his teammates not to hit or high five his left hand.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was 0-of-3 shooting prior to the injury scare, but made five of his next six attempts in the first quarter, finishing with 11 points, one assist, and one steal while playing all 12 minutes. He did, however, appear to continue grabbing his left hand late in the quarter after a made shot.
