When your last name is Clark and you possess unlimited range, the hype follows you naturally.
UCLA made history, blowing past South Carolina 79–51 to capture their first-ever NCAA women's basketball national championship. That championship run was so stacked it vaulted a record six UCLA players straight into the WNBA Draft, led by top picks like Lauren Betts and Kiki Rice.
Another notable run involved Caitlin Clark at Iowa. Her ridiculous scoring range and court vision pulled in record crowds and millions of new fans to the college game.
And with the 2026 NCAA fixtures announced, the hype is starting to build.
Jayda Clarke commits to Texas women's basketball
Texas women's basketball confirmed they have added 21-year-old Australian Jayda Clark to the 2026-27 roster.
Clark comes to Texas from Australia's semi-pro NBL1, where she averaged 17.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game this year.
And Texas reporter Tyler Horka shared a short clip of Clarke in action over in Australia, with her game looking eerily similar to that of Caitlin Clark 's.
His caption said: 'Jayda Clark or Caitlin Clark? The newest Texas women's basketball guard has a smooth offensive skillset.'
It's safe to say that NCAA fans are rather excited too.
One said: "New Texas commit Jayda Clark, SHE CAN SCORE the ball."
"There it is! Huge get for Vic Schaefer and the Horns. They needed more ball handling, length on the perimeter and shooting. Jayda helps with all 3. Massive get." Another fan said.
This supporter is excited: "This is a huge get for Texas."
"This is one of the Aussies I wondered why no one had signed. Jayda Clark was a mainstay on Australian youth national teams. Put up nice numbers in NBL1 this summer. At 21, experienced vet. Good get for Texas WBB this late." Said another fan.
