Shedeur Sanders may get another shot to start for the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Deshaun Watson is in concussion protocol, leaving the door open for the second-year quarterback to be named the QB1 against the New Orleans Saints. He had something to say about the development and shared it with the media.
Sanders entered the NFL last season after experiencing a major slide on draft night. Many analysts and sports outlets expected him to be a first rounder but dropped to No. 144 overall in the fifth round. The former Colorado Buffaloes star began the campaign buried in the depth chart but somehow climbed the pecking order. He started the team's last seven games, completing 120-of-212 passes for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
The 24-year-old has not appeared in the regular season this year, with Watson returning from an Achilles injury. However, he has been active in practices and could get the opportunity to showcase his skill set again in Week 9.

Shedeur Sanders Reacts to Browns QB Report
Sanders addressed the media on Wednesday. He expressed gratitude to the Browns for giving him another chance and stressed that he looks forward to it.
"During the games and understand what I need to get better at," Sanders said. "So then going through the offseason, we worked on that and training camp, of course. Overall, I'm just excited for the opportunity."
The Texas native enjoyed a strong collegiate career. He played for the Jackson State Tigers from 2021 to 2022 before moving to the Buffaloes for his last two college seasons. Shedeur played all four years under his father, NFL legend Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders.
Cleveland will likely announce its official starting quarterback by Thursday or Friday. It won't be surprising to hear Shedeur's name called, with Dillon Gabriel serving as QB2.
