The NFL has entered the offseason workout phase. Teams are beginning OTAs, with minicamps and training camps set to start in the coming months.
Teams are also looking to round out their rosters through last-minute free-agent signings. The NFL Draft concluded less than a month ago, but roster moves continue across the league.

Brenden Rice has not experienced the same early success as his father. Once projected as a Day 2 pick, Rice fell to the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, where the Los Angeles Chargers selected him.

Since entering the league, Rice has appeared in just three games in his rookie season and has bounced around the NFL. He is now joining his fifth team.
Most recently, Rice spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders during the 2025 season and into the offseason. The Raiders waived him to make room for other acquisitions.

Rice put together a productive college career, recording 103 receptions for 1,674 yards and 20 touchdowns. During his senior season, he caught 11 touchdown passes from future No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams .
Rice also contributed as a returner at Colorado, totaling 587 yards and a touchdown on 20 returns. Although his NFL opportunities have been limited, he has managed to stick on practice squads early in his career.
Sometimes, all a player needs is one opportunity. Rice has faced an uphill battle since entering the league, but joining the Packers could provide the fresh start he needs.
Now, the question becomes: Can Rice begin to carve out his own story with the Green Bay Packers?
