Adam Wharton is still likely to leave Crystal Palace next summer despite his downturn in performances, sources have told Football Insider.
The 22-year-old has suffered a run of poor form in recent weeks, with the Eagles having struggled under Pierre Sage, who is facing pressure over his position in the dugout.
The England international has long been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, although after his recent displays, there are concerns about whether that interest will linger.
However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, there are no major concerns about Wharton's form and his suitors are still very much keen.
Crystal Palace had ruled out selling the midfielder during the summer, despite a late enqiry from Man City, with the player happy to continue his development at Selhurst Park.
However, there is a growing expectation that Wharton will be allowed to leave Palace next year, and despite his poor form, clubs are still queueing up to lure him away.
Could Adam Wharton leave Crystal Palace?
Former Man United scout Mick Brown warned Football Insideron 29 October that Crystal Palace could miss out on a "huge" fee for Wharton as a result of his poor form.
While the interest in his signature is unlikely to fade, the weaknesses that have been exposed in his game could cause doubts about meeting Palace's asking price.
However, sources say clubs are unlikely to be concerned by what is a dip in form given his obvious talent and quality which will make him a top signing for any club.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Yeah, I don't think Adam Wharton's poor run of performances will impact his future at Palace.
"Palace know what a player they've got there that they won't be reading too much into his current form, because they know what he can do and how important he is to them.
"I don't think it'll affect his suitors either, because I think for me, form is temporary class is permanent and a fit and firing Adam Wharton doing well would walk into most Premier League teams.
"So I don't think there'll be any major concerns over his form. It's just one of those things. Obviously Palace have had a difficult start to the season as well.
"I don't think there's any massive concerns from Palace or any potential interested parties either. I don't think they'll end their interest just because of a dip in form and a few iffy performances from Wharton."
Crystal Palace could miss out on 'huge' transfer fee as Adam Wharton 'doubts' emerge Crystal Palace 'have an agreement' to sell Adam Wharton after Man City offer Which clubs are interested in signing Wharton?
Wharton has a number of long-term suitors, with clubs in the Premier League and across European football having been keeping tabs on his performances in recent seasons.
The midfiedler has played an important role in the Eagles' recent success and helped his side to win the FA Cup, Community Shield and Conference League in the last two seasons.
Brown told Football Insiderlast month that Crystal Palace are aware of the level of interest in Wharton and are preparing for him to move on next summer.
This came following their decision to turn down an approach for Man City, while the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Man United have been watching his situation closely.
Real Madrid are also among the European giants who have had scouts present at Selhurst Park, and it is shaping up to be a hotly-contested race for the midfielder in 2027.
