Leeds United may get the chance to sign Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott on a permanent deal in January, sources have told Football Insider.
The Whites are long-term admirers of the 23-year-old and were heavily linked with a move for him in the summer.
Elliott ultimately moved to Valencia, but the Spanish giants are already preparing to terminate his loan spell once the January window opens.
Sources say that the starlet has no future at Liverpool and would prefer a permanent move elsewhere in England rather than another loan move.
Elliott's poor loan spells in recent years have raised "question marks" surrounding him, but he is still expected to attract interest from several Premier League clubs.
Leeds have continued to keep tabs on his progress, and could be prepared to launch a move for him once the winter window opens.
Harvey Elliott set for huge January change
Elliott is out of contract at Liverpool in the summer of 2028, but they have no intention of allowing that deal to run down.
Andoni Iraola has already decided that the former Fulham starlet has no place in his plans, and the club are hoping to cash in as a result.
Spells with Aston Villa and Valencia haven't worked out at all in the last 18 months, and Elliott is now pushing for a permanent move to get his career back on track.
He has yet to start a game for Valencia, and was sent off for dissent in his most recent substitute appearance.
Valencia have already settled on the fact that they will be sending him back to his parent club this winter, which could play into the hands of the likes of Leeds.
Sources: Miguel Sierra 'most likely' to join Leeds next summer Miguel Sierra likely to join Leeds next summer
Football Insiderrevealed on Tuesday that Leeds' interest in Sevilla winger Miguel Sierra is "most likely" to come to fruition next summer.
The 22-year-old has made a bright start to the new La Liga campaign, and has a release clause in his contract set at £16.6million.
However, sources say that Leeds are unlikely to launch a move for Sierra in January, with Daniel Farke already happy with his depth in the wide areas.
That could change next summer, when the boss will have more time on his hands to reshape his squad.
