They dismantled the Oklahoma City Thunder 103-82 in a statement Game 4 victory that evened the Western Conference Finals at 2-2.
Sure, much of the spotlight naturally gravitated toward Victor Wembanyama and San Antonio 's suffocating interior defense. However, veteran forward Harrison Barnes offered a revealing explanation for what truly unlocks the Spurs at their absolute best.
"I think the biggest thing for us is honestly just the details," Barnes said after the win. "Can we do the right things? Can we start off by being kind of locked in defensively and communicating—all those things that put us in positions to run and be at our best."
Those details completely overwhelmed Oklahoma City in Game 4. The Spurs held the Thunder to a brutal 33 percent shooting performance. OKC also scored a postseason-low 82 points. San Antonio just dominated key possession battles throughout the night.

Even with the Spurs shooting just 27 percent from beyond the arc, their physicality, half-court execution, and transition opportunities consistently tilted the game in their favor.
Barnes finished with five points and three rebounds in 16 valuable minutes. However, his influence extended far beyond the box score.
Throughout the 2026 playoffs, Barnes has embraced a steady veteran role.
He is averaging 2.5 points and 1.4 rebounds while providing defensive discipline and championship-level composure. Now, the series shifts back to Oklahoma City for a pivotal Game 5.
As such, Barnes' message is clear . San Antonio's championship ceiling depends less on highlight plays and more on mastering the tiny details that fuel winning basketball.
