Fantasy managers hunting for a wide receiver this week keep landing on one Tampa Bay Buccaneers name. With Emeka Egbuka ruled out again because of his foot injury, Chris Godwin Jr. is the most experienced receiver Baker Mayfield has left for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Sit him. Godwin projects for six to 10 PPR points against Atlanta and hasn't earned a lineup spot over a steadier WR3.
He's active and off the final injury report after a Thursday rest day. The concern is how few passes Tampa Bay plans to throw.

Godwin led Tampa Bay's receivers with 46 of 63 offensive snaps in the Week 7 win at Carolina , with Egbuka sidelined. He caught four of five targets for 27 yards. Mayfield threw only 11 passes in that 43-13 rout.
Through seven games, Godwin has 27 catches for 243 yards and no touchdowns. His 65.4 PFF receiving grade ranks 56th among 81 wide receivers, and he managed 216 yards on 212 routes through Week 6, roughly one yard per route run.
FantasyPros expert consensus has him at WR35 this week, with individual ranks spanning WR22 to WR47. FantasyPros analyst Derek Brown pointed out that Godwin still hasn't posted a double-digit PPR game this season.
Atlanta's cornerbacks are banged up, which is the best case for playing him. A.J. Terrell practiced fully Friday after a groin issue and carries a 50.9 PFF coverage grade with an 87.1 passer rating allowed. Billy Bowman Jr. (hamstring) and rookie Avieon Terrell (illness) are both questionable. Bowman has a 61.3 coverage grade and has allowed 10 catches on 117 coverage snaps.
Behind them sits Jessie Bates III, whose 82.5 coverage grade ranks fourth among 93 safeties. Mayfield singled him out this week. "Bates is a hell of a player. Watts, I think, is extremely good as well. Those guys are so instinctive. They disguise well," he said, per the team's game preview .
Where Tampa Bay can and can't move the ball on Atlanta

The opening is through the air. Atlanta ranks 29th against the pass at 255.6 yards per game, and the weaknesses Tampa Bay can exploit start with that secondary. The problem is Tampa Bay ranks last in passing at 150.4 yards per game and has yet to throw for 200 yards in a game.
Running into Atlanta is harder. The Falcons allow 88.9 rushing yards per game, fourth in the league, and 3.8 yards per carry. Nose tackle LaCale London posted a 90.0 PFF run-defense grade against San Francisco in Week 7. Todd Bowles is going to the ground anyway, with Bucky Irving and his 558 rushing yards leading the way.
"I mean, I think that's our calling card," Bowles told the team's website . "We play a lot better when we run the ball very successfully, whether we're home or on the road."
Za'Darius Smith leads Atlanta with 4.5 sacks. Tampa Bay has allowed 22 sacks, and right tackle Luke Goedeke (calf) is questionable. The Falcons also forced four takeaways against the 49ers last week.
Tampa Bay is a 2.5-point favorite with a 46.5-point total , which points to a tight game and a run-heavy script for a team that is 0-4 at Raymond James and desperate to give the crowd off Dale Mabry something to cheer.
Why Godwin stays on the bench in Week 8

Godwin is a sit in 12-team leagues. Injured Atlanta corners give him a path to the low teens, but a run-first plan and Bates over the top cap his ceiling. Check who the experts are taking for a read on the game script.
