The Pittsburgh Steelers have a long list of upcoming free agents but only a handful are considered priority guys who the team will want to focus on re-signing. Here are our Top 10 Steelers in-house free agents and our predictions about if they will be back or not in 2026.
QB Aaron Rodgers
There will be courting and there will be rumors but in the end we expect Rodgers to come back for one more season and make the decision much sooner than last year.
RB Kenneth Gainwell
Gainwell has a chance to really cash in this offseason after a huge 2025 and we don't think the Steelers will be the team to pay him.
S Kyle Dugger
Dugger was such a huge addition last season and with safety a premium, we think Pittsburgh will re-sign him to work with Jalen Ramsey and DeShon Elliott next season.
G Isaac Seumalo
Pittsburgh has a great young core on the offensive line so we expect them to move on from Seumalo and get a young guard in the draft.
LB Cole Holcomb
Holcomb's comeback story has been amazing to watch but the emergence of Carson Bruener makes him expendable.
S Miles Killebrew
Killebrew is one of the best special teams players in franchise history but his injury last season likely marked his last game with the Steelers.
CB Asante Samuel Jr .
Samuel was a late-season addition and flashed some of those skills he had before his injury, and so we think the Steelers will give him a new contract and a chance to start.
CB James Pierre
Pierre is a fan favorite and one of the most underrated guys on defense. We want him to come back but don't look for the Steelers to feel the same way.
WR Calvin Austin III
Austin has never come all the way back from his injury and at this point we don't see how he won't benefit more from a fresh start and Pittsburgh will give it to him.
TE Connor Heyward
Heyward found his role with the Steelers as the "quarterback" of the tush push but with Arthur Smith out as offensive coordinator, that could be gone and Heyward will be gone with it.
