The Pittsburgh Steelers top brass is taking in their first pro day together on Wednesday, as head coach Mike McCarthy , general manager Omar Khan and more are at the Georgia pro day in Athens, Steelers Now has learned.
Former Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was annually one of the best-traveled NFL head coaches when it came to the pro day circuit, and it seems that his successor is at least going to do some of that same work.
In addition to McCarthy and Khan, Steelers defensive coordinator Patrick Graham and scout and former defensive back Ike Taylor are on the trip to Athens, Georgia.
There are two Georgia players that are expected to be first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft: tackle Monroe Freeling and linebacker C.J. Allen.

Freeling is the No. 12 player on the NFL Mock Draft Database consensus big board and is not expected to make it to the Steelers at No. 21 overall. Allen, the third-highest-rated off-ball linebacker in the class, is the No. 24 player on the consensus board and is an option for the Steelers, though linebacker is not at the top of their current needs with Patrick Queen , Payton Wilson , Malik Harrison , Cole Holcomb and Carson Bruener all currently set to return from the 2025 season.
Other highly rated Georgia players include potential second-round picks, defensive lineman Christen Miller and slot wide receiver Zachariah Branch. Both of those are areas of need for the Steelers, with the slot wide receiver job wide open and the Steelers still seeking more additions to the future of their defensive line in preparations for Cam Heyward 's eventual retirement.
In the third round, cornerback Daylen Everette could also be a fit for the Steelers, who will be looking for youth and depth in the secondary after adding free agents Jamel Dean and Jaquan Brisker .
The potential Georgia day three picks include tight end Oscar Delp , left guard Micah Morris, punter Brett Thorson, and wide receivers Colbie Young , Noah Thomas and Dillon Bell.
Khan and McCarthy picked Georgia over Penn State and Ole Miss, who each also have their pro days on Wednesday.
