The Phoenix Suns are looking to reload their 2025-26 roster after the team announced they are re-signing Jordan Goodwin to a three-year, $19 million contract with a player option in the third year, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

This move doesn't come as much of a surprise, considering the season he had.
When Goodwin was originally waived by the Los Angeles Lakers , the Suns knew exactly who they would land: a hard-nosed defender with a capable 3-point shot and someone who plays bigger than his size.
During his career season, he shot 37% from deep 4.3 attempts and had ten starts. He was a major catalyst in their small-ball lineup and even played power forward at times.
The relentless on-ball pressure was a staple of the team's identity. Goodwin was more than willing to take whatever role he was given, and his teammates applauded it.

Even center Oso Ighodaro gave a reminder for just how good his teammate is, but all players in the NBA are. Sometimes, they carve out their own niche, and that's exactly what the guard from St. Louis University has done.
Yes, he had a career season. And yes, he showed that he deserves to be with the team for the long-term. More importantly, every team desires someone like the fifth-year guard.
Midway through his season, Goodwin touched on his perspective with the Suns and how that culminated in his success. He'll have a chance to run it back with just about the same group.
They landed him on a quality deal, and one where Phoenix can keep its continuity and build on the success of last season.
