Gerry McNamara shared some less than ideal news in his post-game press conference following the 81-76 win over Siena , with multiple players dealing with injuries.
Kiyan Anthony and Tasman Goodrick both have knee tendinitis, which kept Goodrick out of the Sunday exhibition. Anthony managed to play against the Saints, but only for 8 minutes where he tallied one rebound and two fouls, and after sitting for a little while McNamara found it best to sit him for the remainder of the contest.
Syracuse did get Mark Morano back, who went for 18 points in his first game with the Orange on 4-6 outside shooting. Morano, who sat out of the UConn exhibition, confirmed to TNIAAM that he was dealing with a hamstring strain but feels "great" now.
Garwey Dual has another injury after dealing with a dislocated collarbone earlier in the summer, he now has a sprained ankle which happened during the UConn game last week. Dual played only 12 minutes against Siena, but was productive with 8 points and 5 rebounds. He's been back to practice just a couple weeks at full speed following the collarbone injury.
"I'm probably two weeks back now," Dual said post-game. "I'm obviously still trying to get back to where I was before the surgery. I'm just trying to be better."
Lastly, and most importantly, Temple transfer Aiden Tobiason will be out a few weeks after he injured his hamstring within the first minute of the game against UConn. The exact specifics of the injury are not clear, but it certainly isn't good for the Orange with their season tipping off in two weeks time.
