Clara Bielefeld is about to trade TCU women's basketball for one of the biggest stages in the sport.
The 19-year-old Horned Frogs sophomore has made Germany's 12-player roster for the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Berlin, becoming the youngest player in the tournament. It's another massive step in a rise that has quickly made the 6-4 guard one of Germany's most intriguing young talents.

And she's barely started her college career.
Bielefeld appeared in 30 games during her freshman season at TCU, averaging 13 minutes while carving out a role on a veteran-heavy team that finished 32-6 and reached the Elite Eight. She grabbed 90 rebounds, the fifth-most among Big 12 freshman guards.
Now she'll be sharing a roster with established German professionals and WNBA talent including Leonie Fiebich and Nyara Sabally .
That's quite a jump.
But Bielefeld's international résumé suggests she isn't going to Berlin just to watch.

At the 2026 FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket, she averaged 8.9 points, 9.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.9 steals across seven games. Her 6.1 assists ranked second in the tournament, while her rebounding numbers were exceptional for a guard.
She's been building toward this moment for years.
Bielefeld became the youngest player ever to compete for Germany's senior national team when she debuted at 17. She was also named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2025 U18 EuroBasket after previously earning MVP honors at the 2023 U16 Women's EuroBasket Division B.
Now comes the real test.

Germany will play the World Cup on home soil in Berlin from Sept. 4-13. The host nation shares Group A with Spain, Japan and Mali, giving Bielefeld an immediate taste of senior international basketball at its highest level.
For TCU, the experience could pay off months after the tournament ends.
The Horned Frogs will need Bielefeld to take on a bigger role during the 2026-27 season, and there aren't many better development opportunities than competing against some of the best players on the planet.
