TCU football restored credentials to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Sept. 4, nearly two weeks after revoking them for the paper's coverage of a locker room incident between Jacob Fields and Dozie Noble Ezukanma , the former of whom was charged with aggravated assault in the incident.
The Star-Telegram, which is one of the primary papers covering TCU and has done so since the early 1900s (indeed, the Horned Frogs ' stadium's namesake Amon G. Carter was the paper's founder and a Fort Worth-area lifer), continued to report on the incident following the revocation.

In a statement, TCU said:
"Today (Sept. 4), TCU Athletics fully restored media credentials to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. In a series of productive discussions, we made clear our position and resolved to move forward. We respect their role as an independent news source and voice in our community, and we look forward to the season ahead."
That season got off to a sour note for TCU, which lost its first game to North Carolina 15-10 in Ireland. Its next game will be against Grambling State on Sept. 12.

Why did TCU revoke Fort Worth Star-Telegram's credentials?
TCU administrators took away the Star-Telegram's credentials following the independent paper's coverage of a locker room fight between Jacob Fields and Dozie Noble Ezukanma on Aug. 13 that left Ezukanma with a brain bleed and saw Fields charged with aggravated assault.
According to the Star-Telegram , TCU said it pulled the credentials because Ezukanma was receiving threats. The paper noted it did not identify Ezukanma after the initial attack.
The Star-Telegram will against have full access to media areas at TCU games.
