Hudson announced his pledge to the Volunteers on Saturday, per On3 insider Hayes Fawcett. Hailing from Chesapeake, Virginia, he chose the program over the Virginia Tech Hokies among other quality schools. Those offers include the likes of Kentucky, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Maryland, N.C. State, Pitt and a handful of others.
"No shortcuts. No excuses. Just work," Hudson said to Fawcett.
Hudson stands out as a three-star lineman with an 89 score on 247Sports. He ranks 10th among players from the state of Virginia and 46th among players at his position. His composite score of 0.8945 puts him in four-star territory, ranking ninth, 40th and 393rd nationally in those respective categories.
Hudson is Tennessee's 15th commitment of the class. He joins 4-star linebacker Kenneth Simon to commit to Tennessee on Saturday, with the Volunteers starting to get a little traction going in the cycle. Hudson is the second offensive lineman to commit to Tennessee in this class, joining 4-star tackle Princeton Uwaifo.
