"Really tough news hearing Mario will be missing the rest of the season," Ryans said. "Mario, he brought a different intensity to our defense. Outstanding energy on the field, just seeing his efforts, seeing his tenacity every single snap. We're going to miss him a lot. Miss him being in the building, we're going to miss him on the field. Guys have to step up in the area where he was. He was really dynamic as a pass rusher as well. We're going to miss him a lot."
Edwards, a longtime NFL defensive lineman with stops in Las Vegas , Dallas and Houston, was playing in his second stint with the Texans. Through the first three games, he was credited with two half sacks and four total tackles.
As a corresponding move, the Texans signed defensive end Chris Braswell from their practice squad. He should rotate in with Dominque Robinson, Logan Hall and rookie Sabastian Harsh as options in run-heavy blocking sets.
