The Texas Longhorns received the injury news Steve Sarkisian feared after Saturday's 34-27 win over the No. 7 Ole Miss Rebels.
One of the two key players Sarkisian singled out afterward has now been ruled out for the rest of the season. The news means quarterback Arch Manning has lost one of his best teammates and a key figure in the Longhorns' postseason race.
ESPN's Pete Thamel reported Sunday that starting left tackle Trevor Goosby will miss the rest of the year with the knee injury he suffered against the Rebels on Saturday.
"Sources: Texas star left tackle Trevor Goosby will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury against Ole Miss on Saturday," Thamel wrote on X. "Goosby is the country's top NFL prospect at left tackle, as ESPN's Field Yates ranked him the No. 8 pick in his most recent mock draft."
Goosby was carted off in the first quarter after going down while pass blocking. He later returned to the sideline on crutches and did not re-enter the game.
Sarkisian already hinted Saturday night that the outlook was concerning for both Goosby and wide receiver Cam Coleman, who left after landing on his shoulder on the first play of the third quarter.
"Obviously, neither of them look very good," Sarkisian said.
Thamel didn't provide any update on Coleman's status, but Goosby's season is officially over. Sarkisian will address the media again on Monday, likely providing an update on his wideout.

The 6-foot-7, 325-pound senior has started 22 games over the past three seasons and earned first-team All-SEC honors from the league's coaches in 2025.
Goosby also entered Week 8 as one of the top projected offensive tackles in the 2027 NFL Draft, with ESPN's Jordan Reid ranking him 30th overall and the fourth-best OT heading into Saturday's game.
The Longhorns climbed to No. 11 in the AP Top 25 after the win and will host the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
