Georgia, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vanderbilt - Texas A&M didn't play any of them in the SEC season, and didn't get Texas until the regular season finale.
Yes, it beat Notre Dame, but after that, the best win was ... Missouri?
The Aggies
missed all of the good SEC teams before dealing with Texas, but that's not the case this year.
Can this be another huge season with a tougher slate? Here's our analysis.
The Good, the Bad, and Who Texas A&M Misses in 2026

The Good
Five of the first seven games are at home, and there isn't a Notre Dame on the non-conference slate this year. Arizona State is no pushover, but it should be a bit easier than last year's Irish, and the game is in College Station.
The road games are spread out, with a perfectly timed week off between trips to Alabama and South Carolina late in October.
The Bad
The Aggies don't miss the big SEC teams this year, for the most part.
Not only do they have to play Alabama, but they have to go to Tuscaloosa, and they have to go to Baton Rouge to deal with the LSU Kiffins - the Aggies and Tigers played last year - and travel up the road to Oklahoma late in the year. But ...
What SEC Teams Texas A&M Will Miss
Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt.
Yeah, the Aggies have a tougher SEC schedule this season, but missing Georgia and Ole Miss is a nice present under the tree.
Texas A&M's Best and Worst Case Scenarios in 2026
Best Case: The Aggies beat LSU
The Aggies have won three of the last four against the Tigers, including a 49-25 blasting last year.
After getting past Arizona State and the SEC opener against Kentucky, A&M pulls off the win at LSU, and then it's on.
It wins at Missouri on the way to a 7-0 start, at least splits the road games against Alabama and Oklahoma, and, of course, beats Texas in the regular season finale on the way back to the College Football Playoff.
Worst Case: The road is a problem
The Aggies lost to LSU, and get tripped up on the wrong day at Missouri. With all the pressure in the world on their shoulders, they lose at Alabama, too.
Throw in a loss at Oklahoma, and worst of all, a bad day at home to Texas, and it's an also-ran season because the 2026 schedule has more landmines.

Games That Will Decide Texas A&M's Season
1. at LSU, Sept 26
To keep harping on this, beating LSU in the SEC road opener is everything. Lose this, and there's almost no margin for error over the final seven games of the SEC season.
2. Texas, Nov. 28
The Aggies haven't beaten the Longhorns
since 2010, and lost 27-17 last year. This time around, it's in College Station, and one way or another, it should be very, very important for the SEC and College Football Playoff chase.
3. at Alabama, Oct. 24
Alabama needs to win everything this year in a make-or-break season for Kalen DeBoer, but this one will be a huge deal. With a week off to follow, Texas A&M can go into the finishing kick with a ton of momentum if it can win in Tuscaloosa.
