The hits keep coming for former Texas A&M standout Chris Hacopian, who delivered his first professional home run with a no‑doubt shot to left field on Tuesday.
Hacopian entered the Nationals organization as one of the most polished hitters in the 2026 MLB Draft class, selected 11th overall by Washington . And while it's still a small sample size, he's already showing why scouts were so high on his bat. Through 12 games, Hacopian owns three multi‑hit performances , a .263/.392/.342 slash line, 10 hits, and a .733 OPS, steady production for a player still working back from a nagging injury.
As he eases into a consistent role, Hacopian has bounced between second base and designated hitter, giving the Nationals flexibility while he ramps up. But Tuesday brought a milestone worth circling.
Trailing 7–3 in the top of the sixth, Hacopian turned on a pitch and sent it well over the left‑field wall, jogging around the bases for his first professional homer. It was a no‑doubter the moment it left the bat and a moment that signals his upward trajectory as he settles into the season.
