The Oklahoma City Thunder closed out the series against the Phoenix Suns on Monday night, sweeping Phoenix with a 131-122 Game 4 win. On Tuesday, superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander trolled Dillon Brooks with a viral post on Instagram.
Gilgeous-Alexander, who is 27 years old, posted an image of himself and Brooks on the court. However, Brooks’ name on the back of his jersey was changed to say “Cancun On” with the No. 3 underneath it, making the full line “Cancun on 3.” The 2025-26 Clutch Player of the Year also shared a message about “villains” in his post.
“Everybody wants to be villainous until the brooms come out and the dust settles, and you realize who the villain is,” said Gilgeous-Alexander.
With the Suns eliminated from the playoffs, Dillon Brooks very well could go on a trip to Cancun right now. While Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took a shot at Brooks, he did admit during the postgame press conference after Game 4 that the two are friends, and that the Suns’ star is a good person despite the “villain” label he has received throughout his career.
“Obviously, knowing Dillon, he’s a great competitor, great guy,” said Gilgeous-Alexander. “No matter what people say about him, he’s a really good guy… So yeah, all that villain stuff, it doesn’t faze me. I know exactly who Dillon is.”
The Thunder advance to the second round of the NBA Playoffs, where they await to play the winner of the series between the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets . In the meantime, Oklahoma City will enjoy a short break until that series is decided.
