Titans' Tony Pollard got extra motivation during the offseason
For most of the offseason, the Tennessee Titans ' focus has been on building around quarterback Cam Ward.
Everything from head coach Robert Saleh hiring Brian Daboll as offensive coordinator to bringing in Wan'Dale Robinson and Carnell Tate was made to help Ward develop in year two. But one weapon who can be an asset to Ward in 2026 often gets overlooked: Tony Pollard.

In fact, in April, a large portion of the fanbase was ready to move on from Pollard, calling on the organization to draft Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love. While the Arizona Cardinals eventually prevented that from happening, Pollard told Tyler Dunne of Go Long that he got the message loud and clear and now has something to prove in what could be his final season in Nashville.
"It all put me back into the prime spot to feel like I'm the underdog," Pollard says. "I'm easily overlooked. So it's easy for me to get up and get going. It's easy for me to grind and give my all every day because I know they might not be expecting that from me, or they may be surprised by the things that I'm doing. I look at it as motivation."
Pollard ran hard in training camp and looked the part of the Titans' feature back behind an offensive line that looked good as run blockers. If he can continue to build upon that once the season starts, his emergence could set the Titans' offense for success, and who knows, maybe a couple more seasons in Nashville.
