One of the best players in the 2026 NFL Draft revealed that he was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan growing up.
It remains to be seen who the Pittsburgh Steelers are targeting in the 2026 NFL Draft, but one of the the class's top prospects shared he wouldn't mind ending up in the black and gold.
Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love — the top-ranked player at his position and No. 9 overall player on the 2026 NFL Mock Draft Database Big Board — revealed he was a Steelers fan growing up.
"The Steelers," Love said . "I was a big fan of Ben Roethlisberger . I mean, the Steelers, they were my team. I was kind of just born into it. My mom and dad are Steelers fans, so it kind of just fell onto me."
Love is a bit out of the Steelers' range as of now since they are currently scheduled to make their first pick at No. 21 overall.
Meanwhile, Love is on track to be a top 10 pick after rushing for 2,497 yards and 35 touchdowns over the last two seasons. He also racked up 55 catches for 517 yards and five more scores during the span.
Love still isn't shutting down the idea of ending up in Pittsburgh, though.
"I don't know, maybe," Love continued. "That would be great for my parents. They would love that because they're Steelers fans."
The Steelers do have more than enough draft capital to execute a trade-up come draft day with 12 selections, thanks to their 2025 offseason plan of accumulating as many compensatory picks as possible.
That plan was originally believed to be for a quarterback, but most of those top prospects decided to return to school this year, leaving Pittsburgh in a very interesting position.
The Steelers don't necessarily need another running back, either. Jaylen Warren is already under contract through the 2027 season after signing a two-year contract extension last offseason and team MVP Kenneth Gainwell is believed to be had for a mere two-year, $6 million .
However, nothing can be ruled out at this point of the pre-draft process, and it certainly doesn't hurt Pittsburgh to have a top prospect like Love vowing for the team's attention.
