TreVeyon Henderson has fallen down New England's depth chart in recent weeks, and the team will be without the running back for its Week 8 contest against the Miami Dolphins. A second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft , the Ohio State product had an up-and-down rookie season but had a knack of churning out big plays. Appearing in all 17 games while making four starts, Henderson finished his rookie season with 911 rushing yards, 221 receiving yards, and a combined 10 touchdowns.
While he's played through ankle injuries earlier in the season, he will not suit up for this Sunday's game. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport , New England has already ruled out the running back. This doesn't come as much of a surprise, as TreVeyon Henderson missed mutiple practices earlier in the week with an illness.

TreVeyon Henderson Injury Update: Patriots RB Out For Week 8
This is unfortunate news for TreVeyon Henderson, but it probably won't impact the New England Patriots too much. While Henderson has impressive speed and physical traits, the running back has not played well this season. He's been an active liability in pass protection and his inability to read blocks and follow rushing lanes has caused him to fall down to the depth chart. Rhamondre Stevenson has been the team's unquestioned RB1 for the season, and veteran Corey Kiner has eclipsed Henderson as the team's primary RB2.
TreVeyon Henderson is far from the only injured Patriot, as the team is basically a walking infirmary at this point in the season. A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs are both out, and New England is down multiple starters on the offensive line. Quarterback Drake Maye is looking like his 2025 self after a slow start to the season, but he's running out of adequate supporting cast members.
