👏 Tricolour pride: Mexico went down fighting
Without a doubt, losing is never comforting. It is never a desired situation. But if you have to go down, it is always better to do so the way Mexico did today.
Mexico set the tone of the match from the very first minute. They did not back down against England's stars. And even though they paid dearly for every mistake, they never gave up. In fact, they kept fighting until the end and pinned back a team that is among the favorites.
There were many standout performances for Mexico. Julián Quiñones put up incredible numbers, Raúl Jiménez brought the power, Erik Lira was the backbone... all in all, it would be unfair to single out just one because, unlike in other years, this squad gave everything and represented Mexicans like no other.
Now they will have to swallow the bitterness of defeat and try again under Vasco Aguirre, who showed that he is more than capable of carrying out his task.
