The Anaheim Ducks continue their road trip throughout Canada tonight against the Edmonton Oilers. The Ducks kicked off the trip with a 5-4 win over the Vancouver Canucks.
Ducks' left winger Cutter Gauthier delivered his second-consecutive hat trick in the win. Gauthier has scored eight goals in his last three games. Leo Carlsson, the Ducks first line center and franchise cornerstone, has 11 points in the Ducks' last five games.
Carlsson leads the team with 22 points in 15 games, which is tied for seventh in the NHL.
Right winger Beckett Sennecke has 16 points so far - a mix of eight goals and eight assists.
Jackson LaCombe leads the Ducks' blue line with 17 points this season. LaCombe has found success when paired with Tristan Luneau, who has 10 points so far in his first full season.
The Ducks' goaltending situation is still malleable, as Lukas Dostal and Ville Husso's recent struggles have paved the way for Laurent Brossoit to step in. Brossoit started the last two games, winning both while allowing seven goals.
The Oilers are an offensive juggernaut this season led by the top-producing line in the NHL. Edmonton averages a league-best 4.13 goals per game. Anaheim is shortly behind at 3.60 goals scored per game.
The Oilers' starting lineup consisting of Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Evan Bouchard has a combined 97 points so far this season. All three players have more individual points than any other player in the league.
Goaltender Tristan Jarry is expected to be in net tonight for Edmonton. Jarry has allowed 2.57 goals per game with a .902 save percentage.
First Pick: Cutter Gauthier over 3.5 shots
Rundown:Gauthier has taken 21 shots in the past three games. Going back even further, he's taken 29 shots in his last five games. Ever since he broke his scoring drought against the Buffalo Sabres, he's increased his shot volume and excelled. On top of that, the last time Gauthier faced the Oilers he took seven shots on goal. The Oilers will push the pace and allow for the type of game where the Ducks' offense can thrive. Open ice, quick rushes and constant movement bodes well for Gauthier's shot chances.
Second Pick: Leo Carlsson over 0.5 points
Rundown:This bet will continue to be hammered so long as it remains low! Take advantage of the 0.5 point line - because Carlsson looks like a 1.5 points per game player. Carlsson has at-least one point in his last five games. He'll continue his hot streak against a poor defense.
