UCLA football is building its roster late under new head coach Bob Chesney. That now includes adding a past James Madison star under the incoming coach. But a South Carolina talent arriving via the College Football Transfer Portal is earning this title: Go-to target for Nick Iamaleava.
College football insider for On3 Pete Nakos revealed who's turning heads out in Westwood based on intel he's received.
"Throughout the spring, sources told On3 to keep tabs on South Carolina transfer WR Brian Rowe at UCLA ," Nakos posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

Rowe is adjusting nicely to the west coast, Nakos says.
"He's continued to garner attention. Sources believe he could emerge as Nico Iamaleava 's top target," the insider added.
Chesney pivoted to a JMU heavy roster for his first UCLA team. Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year Trent Hendrick rose as one recent addition. Except Hendrick needed to clear one hurdle : He arrived as an undrafted NFL free agent. His newest conference the Big Ten passed a rule prohibiting recent NFL tryouts to re-pursue a college career. Hendrick can play though, per UCLA athletic director Martin Jarmond via a news release on Tuesday.
But it's Rowe bringing the most potential to ignite Chesney's vision on offense. He caught 19 passes and racked up 149 receiving yards playing with LaNorris Sellers at South Carolina in the SEC.
So Iamaleava earns a 5-foot-11 speed option into this room. Chesney also is all in on allowing the 2025 high-profile Tennessee transfer to lead his Bruins debut this fall.
