- UCLA's Bob Chesney speaks highly of the San Diego State rushing attack

Ahead of Saturday's showdown versus the UCLA Bruins , San Diego State head coach Sean Lewis made waves by voicing his belief in his own program , being undaunted by UCLA 's talent or their khakis.
Bruins head coach Bob Chesney had a more relaxed perspective heading into his first game at the Rose Bowl . Chesney went in-depth on how the SDSU offense creates running lanes for running back Javion Kinnard and company. San Diego State rushed for 237 yards in Week 1 against Portland State and they'll look to keep it going against the Bruins.
"These guys do a really good job. The running back, if you liked them last week, you're going to really like this one this week. They move people, there's a lot of gap scheme. There's insert plays. There's a lot of things that they're creating double-teams at the point of attack," Chesney said of the Aztecs ' rushing attack. "They got a nice little Wildcat package with a kid that played quarterback at one point that comes in at the receiver position and we've got to be able to handle that line of scrimmage, up front, and see how many guys it takes for us to be able to do that."
Both UCLA and San Diego State are 1-0 and are looking to prove themselves in their new conferences. The Aztecs are beginning their first season in the Pac-12 Conference while UCLA is searching for their first winning season since moving to the Big Ten Conference ahead of the 2024 season.
We'll see if the UCLA defense will be able to handle the San Diego State rushing offense, after the group held their own versus Cal in Week 1, giving up 119 yards on the ground.
