The Belgian has been essential for Villa this season, and Emery said after the draw with Burnley: "The doctor told us that it would be two or three weeks, which is more or less the final in the Europa League or the final against Liverpool .
"In case someone can't play in the final or against Man City , we should find solutions."
Villa have had a very hectic schedule in recent weeks, and Emery hailed the commitment of his players: "Some players were very tired today but the commitment was fantastic. The ambition and mentality to play on Thursday and again here is fantastic. We are not consistent like at the start of the season but the league is 38 matches.
"It was a fantastic performance. I'm very happy with how they competed to try and get the three points. I'm happy how we are competing in two competitions. It's not easy to compete in the Premier League but we're in the top five and that's fantastic.
"We keep going forward and play against Liverpool on Friday now. We are excited for our future matches, a final in the Europa League and Manchester City – wow!"
