Updating Eagles' 2027 draft pick after 6th straight loss originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia
LANDOVER, Md. — If the 2026 NFL season ended today, the Eagles would be picking in the top five.
The Eagles are 2-6 after eight weeks this season and are now sitting in the No. 5 draft spot, per Tankathon.
Here's an updated look at the NFL draft order after Week 7:

After this loss, the Eagles moved up one spot from No. 6 to No. 5 this week. If the Eagles' season continues to spiral, they will start rooting for the Chargers, Titans, Dolphins and Colts to start winning some games.
The Eagles have drafted in the top five just six times since 1970: DE Richard Harris (No. 5 in 1971), OT Jerry Sisemore (No. 3 in 1984), WR Kenny Jackson (No. 4 in 1984), QB Donovan McNabb (No. 2 in 1999), OT Lane Johnson (No. 4 in 2013), QB Carson Wentz (No. 2 in 2016)
Since becoming Eagles GM in 2010, Howie Roseman has made just four picks in the top 10: Lane Johnson (No. 4 in 2013), Carson Wentz (No. 2 in 2016), DeVonta Smith (No. 10 in 2021) and Jalen Carter (No. 9 in 2023).
In addition to their first-round pick in 2027, the Eagles will also have a second-round pick, a projected third-round comp pick, a fourth-round pick, three fifth-round picks and two in the seventh round.
