Under Nolan Teasley, the Vikings roster churn has been a near ever-present reality. The GM isn't passive, made evident in his ongoing desire to work the bottom of the roster to find the right combination.
Prior to the Colts game on Sunday, the Vikings announced the various moves that were made . Not only was Jordan Mason re-added but there were a pair of subtractions. Depth runner DeeJay Dallas got cut from the 53 but added to the practice squad. Corner Natrone Brooks got fired from the practice squad to accommodate Dallas being grafted into the practice squad.
Keep in mind that the runner was then elevated from the practice squad so that he could play in the Week 7 game, a great decision given the strong moments on specials from the depth runner.
The Vikings Roster Churn Continues with 2 Lads Fired
On special teams, DeeJay Dallas has proven to be a monster.
Very quickly, the depth runner has shown that he's a pivotal part of what Matt Daniels is accomplishing. Dallas isn't a returner, so he is a touch overshadowed by the excellent Myles Price . Watch the coverage on kickoff and punt, though. The fast-and-frisky Dallas can commonly be found walloping the ball carrier.
Great stuff. Any high school coach would be wise to show Dallas reps to the depth players. Doing so is an NFL-level reminder that breaking through with a team often begins by sizzling special teams play.

Green Bay Packers linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (56) tackles Minnesota Vikings running back DeeJay Dallas during the second quarter of their game Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Meanwhile, Natrone Brooks is a more under-the-radar name in the Twin Cities.
The Vikings have demonstrated some intrigue in the young defensive back on several occasions. In October of 2026 alone, Brooks has been signed to the practice squad on a pair of occasions. He has been let go a pair of times. The corner would be forgiven is he's got some whiplash.
This one is for the sickos, but I don't think it's hyperbole to say that Nolan Teasley's find of DeeJay Dallas has been an essential part of this 6-0 start. pic.twitter.com/UOKK2Kz8wn

Indeed, it's been a bit of a yo-yo act. Brooks offers enough promise to re-welcome him when there's a need to solidity the corner depth. He's not so promising, though, to keep in the Vikings' roster orbit through thick and thin.
Watch for Brooks' name in the Vikings' roster transactions in the coming weeks and months. Maybe Mr. Teasley goes after the young defender yet again. Mike Zimmer was bang on when he proclaimed that a team always needs just one more corner.

Perhaps the main need that the Vikings have is at running back . DeeJay Dallas is a nice option as an RB3 or RB4 but not somebody who can be leaned on to pickup explosive gains on Sunday. Think special teams and then a modest workload for Kevin O'Connell's operation.
Consequently, perhaps the main thing to watch for within the Vikings' roster churning is at running back. Think Tennessee's Tony Pollard, Philadelphia's Saquon Barkley, or Indianapolis' Jonathan Taylor. New Orleans veteran Alvin Kamara is a great option, too. Are there other versatile veterans on sinking ship teams who could get added?
Next up on the schedule is a Week 8 game in Motown. Overcoming the NFC North foe would mean being 3-0 in the division and 7-0 for the season as a whole.
