Caleb Wilson and Dailyn Swain have been getting their feet wet as they and the Chicago Bulls prepare for the NBA Summer League . Both rookies were honored to throw out the first pitch before the White Sox game at Guaranteed Rate Field on Tuesday, per SleeperWhiteSox.
On Tuesday, the White Sox began a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox. Matas Buzelis , Coby White , Daniel Gafford , and Denzel Valentine did the same thing as rookies.
Meanwhile, Wilson and Swain will get their chance to showcase what they are made of beginning July 10. The Bulls will play against the Memphis Grizzlies in their first Summer League game in Las Vegas.
Both have been highly touted as young prospects with tremendous potential.
In June, Wilson was selected as the No.4 pick in the NBA Draft . Then Swain was selected as the No. 15 pick .
At 6-foot-10, Wilson embodies the SLAP acronym outlined by VP of Basketball Operations Bryson Graham. SLAP meaning: Size, Length, Athleticism, and Physicality. Wilson is fresh off a one-year stint at North Carolina, where he averaged 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
Swain is known for being a solid transition scorer and playmaker. Overall, he averaged 17.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game in his last season at Texas.
On the whole, the Bulls are set to begin a new era with a new coach in Tiaggo Splitter, new management, and a new philosophy. Furthermore, the hope is that Wilson and Swain will each be the spark the organization has been waiting for.
