The Florida Gators return to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday looking to make it two straight wins under first-year head coach Jon Sumrall. Florida opened the 2026 season with an impressive 66-21 victory over Florida Atlantic , giving the program a strong start to a new era in Gainesville.
Campbell enters the matchup with some momentum of its own. The Fighting Camels are 2-0 for the first time since 2018 after opening the season with a 49-37 victory over East Tennessee State before beating No. 24 Western Carolina 28-19. Campbell produced more than 500 yards of total offense against Western Carolina while holding the Catamounts to just one rushing yard.
Florida will now get its first look at an unbeaten FCS opponent before beginning SEC play next week. The Gators will travel to Auburn for their conference opener, making Saturday's game the final nonconference tune-up before the schedule gets considerably tougher.

Quarterbacks and Players to Watch
Florida quarterback Aaron Philo enters the game after an efficient debut in Sumrall's offense. Philo completed 16 of 21 passes for 275 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in his first start for the Gators. Florida's offense scored 66 points against FAU, giving the sophomore quarterback plenty of momentum heading into Week 2.
Campbell will counter with Kamden Sixkiller, who has been one of the team's biggest offensive weapons through two games. Sixkiller has completed 58 of 86 passes for 673 yards and four touchdowns with three interceptions. He also ran for 95 yards and two touchdowns against East Tennessee State while throwing for 343 yards and two scores in that game.
Campbell has already shown it can move the football through the air, but the challenge will be doing so against an SEC defense in Gainesville. Florida, meanwhile, will look to build on its explosive opener while giving its new coaching staff another opportunity to evaluate the roster before conference play begins.
