Harvard opened its season with a 31-7 road win over New Hampshire. Cole Allen led the Crimson with 62 rushing yards, while Charlie Smith threw for 71 yards. The Crimson held New Hampshire to seven points and finished with seven sacks, two interceptions and 11 tackles for a loss. Harvard now begins Ivy League play after winning the conference title in each of the past three seasons.
Brown also won its opener, beating New Haven 17-10. Quarterback James Murphy completed 26 of 38 passes for 343 yards, while Matt Childs produced 148 all-purpose yards, including 95 receiving yards, and scored both Brown touchdowns. The Bears finished with 422 total yards and held New Haven to 278, including just 89 yards in the first half.
