WR Notes: Malik Nabersheaded into the Giants' bye week on the back of four-straight 100-yard performances. He could easily make it five vs. an Eagles defense that has waved the white flag on 2026. … Things could not be more annoying for Drake Londonen route to España. Although Michael Penix Jr. has been "mostly fine," the Falcons are struggling to attain any passing-game momentum. That includes London being stuck in the Julio Jones netherworld in the red zone, as there seems to be a force field between London and the end zone. Week 9 against the Bengals in Spain would be an excellent place for it to disappear. The Bengals are fresh off getting carved up by Cam Ward, and the bookmakers are preparing for truckloads of points in Madrid. … We hoped Justin Jeffersonwas getting a year off from his quarterback issues. Instead they're as bad as ever. Now Jefferson could be going back to Carson Wentz, who, inconceivably, is arguably an upgrade on a hamstring-hobbled Kyler Murray. Say what you will about Wentz, he never pretends he is interested in getting the ball to anyone but his best players. Wentz under center could mean a "low key" fantasy bonanza for Jefferson in Week 9.
Has Chris Olave's WR1 moment come and gone? He went into the Saints' bye averaging just 5/48 over his previous three contests, and he could be coming out of it with Jordyn Tyson(hamstring) potentially re-joining the lineup. A large part of Olave's WR1 appeal over the past calendar year has been his lack of target competition. For Week 9 he will also be facing a Browns pass defense that has remained surprisingly stout without Myles Garrett's pass-rushing threat. You, of course, never bench Olave. You are also no longer relying on him to be the reason you win your matchup. … The Texans headed into their Week 8 bye with seemingly no idea how they wanted to rotate their receivers in a group that now includes Marvin Harrison Jr.and Tank Dell . That they rotated Nico Collinsat all was rather shocking. Hopefully the open date provided reminders that, hey, this Collins guy is pretty good. … Mike Evans(achilles') failed to resume practicing coming out of the 49ers' bye week. Then again, Evans has barely practiced even when "healthy" this season. He should be considered genuinely questionable for Sunday's A+ Raiders matchup, but if he goes, it will be as a player lodged into your WR2 spot.
Rashee Rice's short-area spamming has become more important than ever to the Chiefs' undermanned passing attack. You don't have to like it, but you will probably love it against the Jets' soft pass defense. … I try to never fall prey to "is the matchup too good?" thinking, but seriously … is the Jags' Week 9 matchup too good for Parker Washington? The Jags establish whenever possible, and even if Bhayshul Tuten sits in Baltimore, two-score favorites on the road on a short week = the best ever time to try to get the running game established, potentially again limiting the passing volume in an offense with a lot of mouths to feed. … Michael Wilsonwas the main beneficiary of Week 8's Minshew Mania. Now he is the most likely victim of the Seahawks' shutdown pass defense. Last Sunday confirmed Wilson's continued WR2 status, but no one should be counting on a ceiling effort in Seattle. … DJ Moorewas the PPR WR32 in his Week 8 return. Not a terrible outcome when the opposing team's quarterback gets injured on the first play. "Not a bad outcome" is what you are hoping for again this Monday when the Bills' take on the Vikings' ferocious pass defense.
With Zay Flowersyou are hoping he gets schemed four first quarter targets from No. 3 QB "Joe Fagnano." After that, you are on your own in search of cheap PPR points, though there should still be places to find them. … We've entered the "well, this is awkward" portion of the Jets' receiver season. Garrett Wilson was force fed the ball like an alpha No. 1 in Week 8 but could again only watch as someone else had a 100-yard day, this time Adonai Mitchellinstead of first-round rookie Omar Cooper Jr.Now Wilson is suddenly concussed and on the wrong side of questionable to face the Chiefs. If Wilson sits, Mitchell and Cooper go from boom/bust WR4s to upside WR2/3s capable of flipping your matchup. … Tre Tucker's four-catch floor always felt a little too good to be true, and Week 8 proved that was the case. He still has a much higher baseline than most other down-field wideouts in the year 2026. You can keep firing him up as a WR3.
Ladd McConkeyis the Chargers ' only good player, and he's not even that good. For Week 9, he will be facing a Texans defense that really should be better, and almost certainly will be after two weeks to game plan for the league's most dysfunctional offense. … Shedeur Sanders would equal "advantage KC Concepcion" over Denzel Bostonif the check-down king indeed fills in for Deshaun Watson. Not that Watson has made a habit of going deep this season. … DeMario Douglasprojects as the only game in town for the Patriots' receiver corps, though Mack Hollins(calf, injured reserve) is pushing to join him. Even if Hollins plays, Douglas will have a WR4 floor. Without Hollins in the lineup, Douglas can scrape by as a WR3. … Makai Lemonkeeps doing the bare minimum. That will be put to the test with No. 3 QB Joe Milton taking over for No. 2 Tanner McKee, but easy Lemon looks remain the most sensible thing for his beleaguered offense to scheme up at the moment. … With Emeka Egbuka(foot) yet to resume practicing and the Bucs having made it clear they will run the ball whenever fate/chance/circumstance allows, there is no Bucs wideout worth a WR3 flier despite a potential shootout spot with the Bears.
