KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Now that the Kansas City Chiefs ' 2025 season is officially over, it is time to look ahead to the offseason.
The Chiefs finished the season 6-11, meaning they will be drafting ninth, their first top 10 pick since 2013 ( Patrick Mahomes was selected 10th, but they traded up for him), when they had the first pick.

It's certainly an unfamiliar spot for the league's most successful franchise over the past decade, but much-needed as it's imperative the Chiefs retool their roster.
Back in 2013, the Chiefs selected OT Eric Fisher with that first overall pick. This time around, the organization finds itself in a much different predicament with different needs.
For starters, this roster doesn't need the drastic overhaul that they did in 2013 and the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes, meaning their Super Bowl window is still open.
But, after years of Mahomes' heroics, the Chiefs' flaws were too much to overcome, including a lack of production from the skill players, especially the running back position.
Another issue for the Chiefs this season was their inability to rush the passer without blitzing, a large reason why they struggled to get off the field on third down in key moments.
Some names to look out for in the upcoming draft are Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love and Texas Tech edge rusher David Bailey.
Love has gained plenty of traction among Chiefs fans and is arguably the most electric running back in college football. He was third in the NCAA in touchdowns and eighth in yards. His season made him a Heisman finalist.

Bailey was the best in the country when it came to getting to the QB. He led the NCAA with 14.5 sacks and was named a unanimous All-American.
The Chiefs will focus on what's next for the franchise as they enter the offseason with a lot of questions while they look to reset.
