The Philadelphia Eagles are in free fall right now, with the team losing another game this weekend to the Washington Commanders.
With the loss, the Eagles now have lost six straight games , holding a record of 2-6 for the season. 2026 hasn't gone to plan for this team, and there doesn't seem to be any sign of them getting things together.

Given all the injuries that the Eagles have seen this season , the drought could continue to be extended this year. Philadelphia has already lost star quarterback Jalen Hurts for the rest of the season due to a blood clot issue that has threatened his NFL career.
His future with the Eagles remains up in the air right now, and the organization will have to figure out everything once the year ends. But for now, the Eagles have to find a way to stop the bleeding as the year goes on.
However, the one bright spot for the Eagles if the team does continue to drop games is that they would have a high draft pick. Philadelphia
If the season were to end right now, the Eagles would have a top pick in the upcoming 2027 NFL Draft. Philadelphia currently holds the No. 5 pick in the draft right now, which would allow the team to take a potentially special player.

Given the situation with Hurts, it wouldn't be a surprise for the Eagles to possibly go after a quarterback if they were to land a top pick. The 2027 draft class does have multiple options that the Eagles could choose from, but it all remains to be seen.
The Eagles came into the 2026 season ready to compete for a Super Bowl title, but the year has gone off the rails. Philadelphia can still make the playoffs, especially with the NFC East being weaker than normal this season.
But if the Eagles want to avoid this being a complete disappointment, the team will need to start stacking some wins soon. The New York Giants are in first place in the NFC East, leading the Eagles by a few games.
With there still being a little over half the season left to go, the Eagles remain alive in the division race, which speaks to how poor each team has been. But the clock is ticking fpr Philadelphia to figure something out for the remainder of the 2026 season.
