Sausages and baseball are a match made in heaven, and there’s a way fans can find salvation on Red Sox Opening Day for free.
The Sausage Guy cart at Fenway will hand out free sausages to the first 100 customers starting at noon on Friday, April 3.
The promotion is in honor of the new comedy, “Balls Up,” which will be released on Prime Video April 15.
The film is directed by Peter Farrelly (“Dumb and Dumber,” “Me, Myself and Irene”) and stars Mark Wahlberg, Paul Walter Hauser, Benjamin Bratt, Eva De Dominici, Daniela Melchior, Molly Shannon, Sacha Baron Cohen and Eric André.
“Balls Up” follows marketing executives Brad (Wahlberg) and Elijah (Walter Hauser) as they pitch a bold full-coverage condom sponsorship with the World Cup. But after partying too hard in Brazil and sparking a global scandal, the duo must evade furious fans, criminals and power-hungry officials to save their careers and make it home alive.
Those who stop by the stand at 49 Lansdowne St. will also get to meet Leo the Linguica, one of the stars of “Balls Up.” Leo will make an appearance at the cart to meet fans, snap photos and bring a little movie‑mayhem to Fenway.
Once they got their sausages, fans can head over to Fenway Park to watch the Boston Red Sox in the team’s home opener against the San Diego Padres.
