Danny Sprinkle and the Washington Huskies are set to open their season on Monday night against the Colgate Raiders.
After a pair of losses to Boise State and Washington State in the exhibition slate, the Huskies are expecting one of their top transfers, former San Francisco point guard Ryan Beasley, to be able to suit up after a concussion forced him to miss several weeks, as Sprinkle is not taking his first opponent of the season lightly.
"Colgate's a really good team," Sprinkle said during his first press conference of the 2026-27 season. I know people out here probably don't know. Their coach does a hell of a job, and it probably wasn't great scheduling on our part."
"It's hard to get teams to come out to Seattle; we thank them for coming, but this is a damn good team. They've got some players back from last year that are really good players."
