Edon Zhegrova has been in fine form for Juventus in recent matches, but the attacker will not be added to their Europa League squad despite the club having an opportunity to make a change to their original registration.
Zhegrova was initially left out because of limited spaces in the squad. His slow start to the season meant Juventus opted against including him, but recent injuries have created an opportunity to make an adjustment.
The Bianconeri have lost several players to injury in recent weeks, including Manuel Locatelli , who is expected to spend an extended period on the sidelines. Juventus have therefore been forced to replace him in their European squad.
Supporters might have expected Zhegrova to take Locatelli's place, particularly given his recent performances. However, Juventus have opted to include Jeff Ekhator instead, raising questions about the decision.
Ekhator has only recently returned to team training after suffering a lengthy injury during pre-season. Consequently, Zhegrova appears to be in a better position to offer an immediate contribution to the team.
However, the decision is not based solely on sporting considerations. According to Football Italia , the squad position occupied by Locatelli was reserved for a player trained at a local club, making Ekhator the only eligible replacement.

Despite missing out on European registration, Zhegrova remains an important option for Juventus in their domestic campaign.
Luciano Spalletti has enjoyed working with the attacker over the last few months, and his recent performances have demonstrated the qualities he can bring to the team.
Although supporters may be disappointed that he will not feature in the Europa League, Zhegrova can still make an important contribution in league matches.
Juventus will hope he maintains his current form and continues providing valuable options in attack as they navigate the remainder of the season.
